Quality assurance is important to customers who deal with NCT. The best way to provide this assurance is to use an independent standard against which to measure performance.
ISO 9001/2000 system (International Organisation for Standardisation) is an internationally recognised quality management system aimed at achieving customer satisfaction through documented and verified systems and procedures. NCT obtained ISO 9001/2000 certification in November 2001 and has maintained the system since without any major findings.
NCT has been FSC-certified* (Forestry Stewardship Council) as a group manager since November 1999 with 95 of its Members' farms FSC-certified, covering some 82 000ha of plantations.
*FSC is an eco-labelling system that allows certified organisations to attach the FSC label to their products. Environmentally aware consumers are reassured that the product that they have purchased is derived from a well-managed (social, environmental & economic) forest.
