NCT's core area of management and operation covers the entire province of KwaZulu-Natal. Demand for NCT's service however has resulted in its sphere of influence extending to parts of the Western and Eastern Cape, Mpumalanga, Limpopo as well as Swaziland.

The NCT head office and Southern Natal District office are based in Pietermaritzburg with additional district offices in Greytown, Richards Bay, Vryheid, Nelspruit and George.

Each District Office acts as a link to a specific geographical member constituency, offering a range of services including, among others, timber order allocations, timber transport co-ordination, accounts and technical forest advice.
