35 INTEGRATED ANNUAL REPORT 2023 Health and Safety remains a top agenda item for both Management and the Board. To improve NCT’s compliance as a group, it was decided to centralise the co-ordination of the NCT Occupational Health and Safety Management System. The various procedures within NCT’s operations are being combined into group-wide practices. Strategically, all elements of the safety system would be simplified and aligned towards the nature and requirements of all parts of our business. The process of coordinating compliance in a systematic manner automatically improves quality along the way. The rapid digitisation process brought on by the pandemic, equipped NCT with the necessary platform to migrate paper-based safety files towards a digital shared folder system which makes it easier for senior management to have oversight with regards to legal compliance. Steady progress was made in this reporting period and according to the implementation plans, NCT should have a central Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ) Management System in place by the end of 2023.
