31 INTEGRATED ANNUAL REPORT 2024 Employee Demographics The Employment Equity Committee oversees all equity-related matters in NCT. The committee met four times during the reporting period during which it conducted barrier analyses and noted the workplace skills plan and annual training report. The Committee further attended training to get a better understanding of the role the Committee plays, and the complexities associated with workplace transformation. The employment equity reports were submitted and accepted for the Co-operative as well NCT Durban Wood Chips (Pty) Ltd and BayFibre (Pty) Ltd. At the end of the reporting period the male-female representation remained at 74% and 26% respectively. The overall racial distribution is closely aligned to the KZN economically active population. It should be noted that this is only the overall distribution across all occupation levels, and that there is still a need for better representation on middle and upper management.
