23 INTEGRATED ANNUAL REPORT 2025 FSC Tree Farming significantly contributes to the Co-operative’s FSC certification potential, with more than one-third of the total FSC-certified supply coming from NCT-owned and managed farms. All NCT-owned farms are certified, and about 80% of managed farms also hold certification. Legal Matters Land claims, labour tenant disputes, and mining and prospecting applications remain an ongoing challenge that affect all landowners. Tree Farming continues to oppose these applications on and around NCT properties where it is in our best interests, and in doing so is cost-effective. The number of matters that we are currently addressing are: • Land Claims, Labour Tenant and Land occupiers related items: twelve matters, • Mining application: five matters and • Prospecting applications: twenty matters All these issues are a major risk and expense for us.
