The agility of the new workforce structure has proved its efficiency during the first few months of 2023. The restructuring also resulted in 29 employees (17 Bayfibre and 12 NCT RBWC) opting for retrenchment despite having been offered alternative employment in which they would have had similar or improved conditions of employment. Another restructuring initiative revolved around the change in the senior management structure following the retirement of the Tree Farms Manager. The departments have been reorganised to allow for the streamlining and consolidation of certain functions. These initiatives should further improve the efficiencies and build into the long-term succession plan of the senior management team.
